Excerpts from "Evolution of the Soul"
The following passages are included in a manuscript Dr. Fisher is currently in the process of publishing. The collection of perspectives were written by Dr. Fisher over a period of years and have been very helpful to clients to aid in their healing processes. These provide a cross-section of the poems and perspectives in the manuscript. If you have additional interest in more of the perspectives, please e-mail Dr. Fisher Erik_Fisher_Phd@Mindspring.com and provide feedback.

Putting it All Together

The following passage is reprinted with permission of a client who experienced an amazing transformation through their work in therapy, which has become more common through the work I do. This text comes from their journal, and as you will see, there are places in which the writings seem to take on a perspective beyond theirs and ours (noted in italics). The passage brings together the concepts of gift, evolution, emotion, pain, karma, light, spirituality, oneness, reincarnation, and automatic writing. Coincidentally, this text was written after I had written Evolution of the Soul, of which the client had no knowledge. The information included appears to answer many questions that most have been seeking throughout time. As I have said before in this manuscript, read the passage with an open mind and do not judge the words you read. There is much to learn through other’s experience if you are ready to see…

Journal Entry

"I have changed. I have become more aware of who I am, and what my role in this time and place is. I have been given the means to understand myself. And by understanding myself, I can understand others and the needs that they have and how I can help them to meet those needs; thus continuing to grow.

I have learned that I am not so very different from those others who surround me in this time. I am embodied, human, prone to human failings, human pain and misery. Emotions can better me, but the task is to master the emotions. Emotions are valuable, necessary, vital, in fact. They would not have been given to us if they were not valuable, and meant to be used. Of what value is a gold coin, a diamond, if it is not used and appreciated?

There are many writings on the virtues of using what is considered valuable. The Bible speaks of using what one is given, not secreting it away in the ground. The parable of the talents is a useful demonstration of this concept. For the servant who had buried the talents given to him by his master, in the end, had them taken from him. He had chosen to hide his talents away, to keep them, and not use them as they should have been used; thus, they were taken for use by another.

The word talent is of interest. Talents were a monetary unit in that era. The present meaning is much different, but the concept is more strongly demonstrated today, even in this ancient document. What is a talent? It is a gift that one is given, an ability to do something perhaps much more strongly than another. Should one, then, use the talent for one's own benefit? In other words, hide it away where it cannot grow and be shared.

Sharing is another concept of interest. To share something physical, something material, such as money, consumables, something finite, may make it seem that the shared item has become smaller, lessening its value. This is true, in one sense. For whom has not shared a meal with another, only to note that the meal has disappeared, leaving but the plates and platters. There has been nothing physical gained by this sharing, nothing that one could grasp and hold firmly, and note that the value has increased.

There is a gain however. This simple sharing of a meal has added to the participants more than just physical nourishment. It has added pleasure, warmth, a sense of companionship. There is not overmuch that is tangible, yet the process of sharing has provided an incomparable increase to those who chose to share. How much more can the sharing of one's talents increase their value? If simple nourishment can offer so much, cannot those talents, gifts, abilities that are inherent in us all also be of much value?

The talents are innumerable as they are varied. If the one would look at oneself, looking deep within, what springs to mind? Can the one not count up all that is his to use during this lifetime and come up without lack? What are the talents that have been offered to you? They may not appear to be what they seem at first glance. It may take much searching, many visits inside to the core of the spirit to see and grasp what is yours. Have you a tongue? Use it then to spread peace and comfort. Use it to spread the wisdom that rightfully belongs to the All. Have you not ears? Use them to listen to the cry of the others that surround you. Use them to gather the knowledge that you might learn and grow and evolve and develop. What of the body? Have you been gifted with strong arms and back? Use it to be of service to those who lack. The mind too is a gift, a talent. As one is gifted with a strong mind, a seeking, searching mind, use it to access the truth, to delve deep into the storehouse of knowledge that has accumulated from the ones that were here before you. Learn, ponder, discern the mysteries. Spread then this knowledge that you have gained. Lead others to The Light, to the ONE, to the truths for which they all seek with such diligence. For this is the way of things as they shall be as the plane evolves into its form. For it to evolve, change, grow, and become that which it is meant to be, all who have been gifted with the probing mind must disseminate what they have gathered to others. Each must look around to those who are near, look deep with knowing opened, enlightened eyes so that they might see what lies beneath the surface, beneath the shell of tissue. Seek to see behind the curtain of flesh to the spirit that lies beneath. Look not at the outward appearance. Although the outer shell has been made with a purpose, it is not what is of importance in this matter. It is that which lies beneath the surface.

When one is open, ready to receive, then the one shall receive. One must ask. Ask with knowledge. For what is in the here and now must be at least acknowledged before further enlightenment may occur. There are those who desire, who yearn but the enlightenment is held back until the completion is reached. It is correct that you are of human flesh, and therefore with the failings and lacks which accompany this condition, although they should not perhaps be categorized as lacks and failings. More properly they are frailties. By this is it to be assumed that one must not reach the conclusion that since one is embodied that there are limits due to this condition. There are limits, this is correct, but these limits are of a material nature. One may and indeed must strive to overcome the frailties of the mind, of the spirit, this is a correct term. There are not limits to the spirit.

One must strive to reach perfection, to reach completeness that one may return to the Presence, but it is correct that there are those who will not reach perfection. For it is not to be for all in this time and plane. There are those who shall not reach the limit of enlightenment. There are barriers, some of the material, and yet some of the spiritual, of the spirit.

Each spirit is an individual, although we are all part of the Whole, and at the same time part of the ONE. By this it is meant that there are times when the single may become part of the Whole, the All, to share in the entity that exists always as the All. Yet that single spirit may, at a time, choose to leave this entity that may be called the Whole to savor experiences of the individual. This is a concept that is not new to those in this plane, yet each time it is considered there is a freshness to it. Each spirit by being individual has choices that may be made, and experienced. Each part of the Whole has not these choices as they are experienced by the All. The All experiences in concert, drawing upon the experiences of all that is contained within it at a time. This is unity, this is oneness, this is what all have experienced in the plane of the One and may be fleetingly experienced in the plane that the spirit resides in now. Surely each has felt this at one span or another.

It is the Whole that speaks to you now. It is of the One, the Creator, the One who has brought all into being that all might experience the love that resides in the presence of the One. The All is composed of the many, and the All is a constantly growing, changing entity. The Whole benefits from the many, from the individual, and it delights in the new experiences and individuals that choose to become part of it as the spirits develop and grow.

For those that seek: What do you seek? Enlightenment comes to all during the time that is spent in this plane, but to all comes not fulfillment. Is this understood? By this it is meant that one may see and realize that there is a further potential, a further development, but all may not reach this potential. As the spirit is numbered, so may the reasons be. For the spirit may have made the choice to remain unfulfilled. The spirit perhaps has been deflected on the journey, perhaps has seen another experience that may benefit its growth. The spirit may not have reached that level of development that may effect its growth.

This body is tired. This body must rest. This body may continue when it is ready. This body is particularly receptive. This spirit is known to the All. "
