Author of: The Art of Managing Everyday Conflict: Understanding Emotions & Power Struggles

Licensed clinical psychologist Erik A. Fisher, PhD has helped many clients find their inner power and worth, thus enabling them to live happier, healthier lives. Fisher received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology.  He then continued his graduate studies at the University of South Florida, where he conducted in-depth research on the psychological development of body image, a precursor to eating disorders. Throughout his process of pursuing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, he too obtained a minor in Sports Psychology.

Quickly after graduation, Fisher and a fellow colleague developed a program designed to identify the immediate needs and unique perspectives of individuals and their families with ADD, a program known as the ADDvantage Program. Focusing on the strengths of ADD, he was able to help many children and adults, who otherwise felt that they were doomed to lives of mediocrity and failure. He continues to volunteer his time to CHADD (Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder) by presenting his wisdom and experiences to the parents and kids.

Fisher runs a private practice in Georgia, providing clinical psychological therapy for children, adults, couples and families. Being a long-time veteran of public speaking, Fisher is known for his talks that educate others on how to take a more empowered look at their everyday battles that are keeping them from a healthier life.

He studies the importance of identifying and knowing how to deal with power struggles within the self and society. Fisher’s book, The Art of Managing Everyday Conflict, explains the importance of learning how to adjust and appropriately use power to help benefit your overall lifestyle. Personal battles, work conflict, and relationship turmoil, are just a few examples of power struggles Fisher provided in the text. Fisher explains, “It is a book that first involves changing the self from within. If we are able to understand ourselves more clearly, we would likely see ways in which the world reflects our own flaws. As we correct our own flaws, our reflection of the world around us will likely change to demonstrate those changes within ourselves.”

Fisher’s practices include:  innovative uses with hypnotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, interaction analysis, educational tools, visual imagery, play therapy, as well as spiritual therapy. Dr. Brian Weiss, an internationally known psychiatrist and author, supports and encourages Fisher’s practices suggesting him as a referral source to his own clients. He has been interviewed for local, national and regional radio, print and television for his work.
