Educational Video and Lecture Program Proposal:
From the knowledge and experience gained lecturing in the school system
and to members of the health and physical education fields, it became apparent
that a product was needed to educate teachers, students and parents on the
factors that contribute to body image disturbance. At this time, I have developed a video
script, and 4-6 session workshop program.
I am seeking corporate sponsorship for the video so that it may be
distributed to school systems and the home at little or no cost to the
consumer.
Rationale and Implications for
the Integration of Psychological Constructs into the Programming for the
President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.
Program Development Proposal: Submitted,
January 92
This proposal discusses many issues in schools and competitive sports
that may exacerbate body image disturbance and contribute to eating
disorders. Additionally, the proposal
promotes positive aspects of exercise and good physical and mental health. Also
discusses and presents alternatives for program development of the President's
Council in an attempt to promote a healthy feeling body inside and out.
Athletics and Psychology:
Implications for a Lifetime of Physical and Mental Health
Position Paper: Unpublished
Manuscript, 92
Both the program development proposal and position paper attempt to
raise issues in physical education and athletics. These issues deal with pressures to succeed
in sports at any cost and how these issues can contribute to the development of
psychological difficulties. These
projects also discuss the positive effects of exercise and physical activities
on psychological health, provided that individuals are exercising for the right
reasons.
